Horticulture and gardening are great activities for everyone and help enrich lives by improving our physical and mental health. In our beautiful gardens there is always something to do, whether sowing seeds, potting plants, preparing plants for sale in our garden nursery, or weeding and pruning in our Victorian Walled Garden. Our seasonal programme ensures there is always something to do from summer planting through to being involved with the supply of Christmas trees and wreaths to our wonderfully supportive local Community.
Getting involved with our Staff and Volunteers where every session is tailored to Members needs. It could be taking part in a seated activity whilst in a wheelchair, an adapted session for someone with sight impairment or being more active in the gardens every session is planned for our Members who are encouraged to make their own choices and how to problem solve and follow instructions, we will support families as they explore transition into independent living.
Members may be supported to work on a task with another gardener or may grow independence working on an individualised task under empowering supervision and all Members are part of the bigger team.
