Learning to music, Members can become proficient in Makaton sign language, learning and having fun at the same time. Our Members ‘Sing and Sign’ choir has had many performing opportunities, from the Sights and Sounds event at Ripon Cathedral, to our own on-site performances at Apple Day, Spring Fair, at our annual carol concert and regular parents and carer coffee mornings. Every performance brings joy and helps to build confidence and self-esteem for Members – it is a lot of fun too!
In our drama group, Members can express themselves as they build confidence, and for those who need to let off a little steam or develop communication skills and interaction with peers, drama offers the perfect opportunity within safe and fun boundaries. Drama boosts communication skills and self-confidence and our Members all enjoy regular performing opportunities both on and off site in our annual show. Drama integrates with many sessions, for example Members may build sets for performances in arts and crafts or woodwork and then also enjoy showcasing on opening night as they perform!
