Sports, Health & Wellbeing

Building a love of sport, our staff work with Members to engage them in activities to build their physical and emotional health and wellbeing as well as softer skills such as learning to be part of or even leading a team, keeping safe and fit and healthy. Our Sports programme is varied from weekly swimming sessions to seasonal cycling, where we teach Members to cycle first on site in our beautiful grounds, then moving on to traffic free cycling expeditions. Our walking group tackles 5 or 6 miles weekly whereas our rambling group take things at a more sedate pace. Whichever activity is chosen, our staff and volunteer teams ensure participating in sports and being healthy is fun and inclusive for all our Members.

Our strong relationships with Ripon City Golf Club means Members regularly participate in Golfing sessions and we have varied community-based sports sessions weekly.  On a weekly basis, Members can visit Ripon Leisure Centre Gymnasium, where full use of the up-to-date equipment is available, this helps tone muscles and build strength and stamina, each programme personalised to the individual Member
