We had the most wonderful Apple Day on Saturday. The weather couldn’t have been kinder, and hundreds of visitors flocked to the Garden to enjoy everything we had on offer. We’ve been absolutely delighted with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our visitors.
There was something for everyone, with live music, children’s games and face painting, Riggmoor Petting Farm, a BBQ, ice cream, delicious treats from the café, artisan stalls and so much more!
Our amazing Apple Pressing team worked incredibly hard, pressing thousands of apples throughout the day — and somehow still managed to smile at the end of it all!
A very special thank you goes to Dan and Pete, managers from Ripon Inn, who worked on the apple presses all day and also donated a very generous prize for our Giving Tree.
Of course, an event like this wouldn’t be possible without our incredible volunteers. They worked tirelessly throughout the week to get the site ready, then turned out in force on the day to run stalls, help with catering and parking, and take care of everything else in between. We really couldn’t do it without you!
A huge thank you also goes to our wonderful staff team, who worked for weeks behind the scenes organising the event, supporting Members to learn Sing and Sign, baking and cooking, advertising, preparing the grounds and so much more.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came along, volunteered, donated, supported and helped make the day so special. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support of the Garden throughout the year.
We are delighted to announce that the event raised over £10,000, which will go towards the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Members mess, which will allow us to extend our services and support more people.
The Harrogate Advertiser kindly attended the event and produced a great write up with some lovely pictures which you can view here https://www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/news/an-apple-a-day-brings-ripon-together-9268442
Thank you for making Apple Day such a fantastic day!
